Colts to face just five playoff teams in 2010
By Bud L. Ellis
Of its 16 games in 2010, the Indianapolis Colts won’t line up very often against teams that made the playoffs last season.
The defending AFC champions play just five games against postseason qualifiers from a year ago. The National Football League has released the list of home games and road games; dates and times will be finalized later.
At home, the Colts play just three teams who made the postseason last year: AFC West champion San Diego, NFC East champion Dallas and AFC North champion Cincinnati. The rest of the home schedule includes games against Houston, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Kansas City and the New York Giants.
Only two of the Colts’ eight road games are against playoff teams: Philadelphia and New England. The rest of the road schedule is comprised of trips to Houston, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Denver, Oakland and Washington.
The Colts’ schedule is tied with Cleveland’s for 10th-toughest in the NFL, according to opponents’ winning percentage.
